Elisabeth was the third child of Max, Duke of Bavaria, and Ludovika, daughter of the Bavarian king. Ludovika had three sisters, all of whom had married into higher positions than she had. One of these, Elisabeth's aunt Sophie, was married to the Austrian Archduke Franz Carl.

The Takarazuka Revue and its early ties to Western classical music. When Kobayashi Ichizou Footnote 1 laid the first foundation for the Takarazuka Revue in 1913, he called the sixteen girls aged 12-16 who he had recruited Takarazuka Shoukatai, 'Takarazuka Chorus', but before they had even made their stage debut the following year he renamed them Takarazuka Shoujo Opera Youseikai.

As for the Takarazuka version I like the Yukigumi version with Maki Ichiro as Tod (later she played Elisabeth in the Toho Musical Production). She is a very classic Tod (voice, behavior) . I also like the Soragumi Version with Asato Shizuki as Tod who is a bit more aggressive/fiery. In both of these versions Mari Hanafusa plays Elisabeth who is.
