Fallout Tactics is semi-canon in that some content is not canon (funny enough, all Fallout games are technically semi-canon for that reason). Now, specifically, Tactics' main questline is canon and everything else is up in the air regarding if it exists in the main continuity or not.

Fallout tactics is canon (play fallout tactics) This video does a good job of explaining why fallout tactics (you should play it) IS canon, and why Todd Howard's old idea on tactics (play it) isn't accurate anymore. And since it's canon, tactics (which you should play) should be required.

On the Fallout Wiki page, it states that Fallout: Tactics is considered non-canon because of Bethesda's decision to do. This decision is confusing to me because even though I haven't play Tactics, I've read the lore, and I can't find any conflict between Tactics and Fallout 3 or 4.

1 Answer. In fiction, canon is the material accepted as officially part of the story in an individual universe of that story. In other words, canon is every event that "really" happened according to a given work's story. In this case, the work is a video game of the Fallout series. What is or isn't canon can differ from game to game.

The Warrior doesn't exist, General Barnaky (or however you spell his name) doesn't exist, the vast majority of missions in the game never happened, etc.

Because of inconsistencies with previous Fallout games, Fallout Tactics has been declared as non-canon by Bethesda Softworks except for its pivotal events, though some elements do not contradict it and its content can be used as "flavor" material.

Fallout Tactics Starting Tips and Hints (No Spoilers)

Hi guys, new here! ^.^ I'm curious: exactly what elements in these two games contradict canon events/statements presented in other titles? From what I understand, certain parts of Tactics are canon (the gist of it is), but the entirety of Brotherhood of Steel isn't.
